Just been signed off following ankle arthroscopy 2 weeks ago. No drama, no pain, no infection, increased mobility straight after the op even with the swelling that naturally follows surgery. Exceptional recovery with his recommended physio - treatment ongoing. Will be back on my motorbike this weekend and using gear shifter. I'm getting my life back! Mr Kunasingam has a fantastic manner, great listener and obviously great skills. I could not recommend him highly enough.

I highly recommend Mr. Kunasingam, who has done an ankle ligament reconstruction six weeks ago. The process of consultation, procedure and recovery has been very positive and could not have wished for a better experience. I came to see Mr Kunasingam seeking a second opinion. He took great time to answer my (many) questions, and gave me reassurance about what he was going and not going to do during the surgery. The scar left where he made the incision to repair the ligaments it is almost invisible, and this is not an euphemism: there is no numbness, redness, it almost looks as if there is no scar at all. I am delighted. Mr Kunasingam has clearly mastered the art of surgery.

Not only did he have a great bedside manner he was concise, precise and although he didn't promise the earth he was accurate. The operation on my ankle has improved the level of flexibility and reduced the pain I have experienced for over ten years. I wish I had met him earlier!

In May of this year I broke the fifth metatarsal in my right foot. I was initially treated at another hospital, first in the urgent care centre and then in a fracture clinic, and was told that there was nothing that could be done but wait for the bone to heal. I was concerned because of my previous experience of breaking a bone in my arm, which failed to heal by itself and did not heal until pins were inserted; so I decided to seek a second opinion, and booked to see Mr Kunasingam at North Downs Hospital. Mr Kunasingam listened carefully to my concerns based on my previous experience, and explained that while waiting for a longer period of time to see if the bone would heal by itself would be an option, there was also the option of surgery to pin the bone which could probably be done in a minimally invasive way. I chose the surgery, and Mr Kunasingam carried out the operation less than a week later. My pain was well controlled after the operation and I was able to go home the same day. My foot was in plaster for two weeks after the operation, then the plaster was taken off and I was given an air boot which I used for several weeks afterwards. I gradually progressed from using two crutches with the air boot to using one crutch, and then wearing trainers instead of the air boot. I had very little pain around the site of the operation, and the incisions in my foot were so tiny that three months after the operation I can barely see the scars. It's fascinating to see the difference that such a tiny pin has made. Three months after the operation, I can walk without crutches and drive my car. I haven't tried high-impact exercise yet but will be continuing to follow Mr Kunasingam's advice to set lots of small goals and gradually build up my activity level. Mr Kunasingam is calm, professional and friendly and I have felt fully involved in decisions about my care at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

I had bunion surgery on my left foot by another surgeon in October 2013. It was open surgery which meant 4 weeks on crutches in a soft bundle, 3 weeks in a cast with a velcro boot, 3 months of podiatry care and physiotherapy. I had some issues with the aftercare but my foot and toe are nice and straight but I have a large scar and couldn't face getting my right foot sorted out as I didn't have the time or will to go through it all again as it was over a year before my left foot felt ok! Nearly 5 years later, I had the time and reaĺly needed to get my right foot sorted out! Thank god I was referred to this fabulous doctor! Small cuts, soft padding and velcro boot, foot elevated as much as possible for 2 days then walking on it as normal. I have had check ups every 2 weeks and my foot is as good after 6 weeks as it was after 9 months last time. Have to go back in six weeks for final check up. Wish my first experience had been as pleasant as this time. Mr kunasingum listens to my conserns and I really felt reasured it would be different this time.
